Creating a free seeker profile allows us to match you with new listings as they become available and notify you when suitable homes are added. What's the difference between SDA and SIL housing?

Accepted Answer

SDA (Specialist Disability Accommodation) refers to the physical home itself - properties purpose-built or modified to meet high support needs. SIL (Supported Independent Living) refers to the funded support provided inside the home, like help with daily tasks. You can live in an SDA property with or without SIL funding, and they are funded separately through your NDIS plan.

How do I know if I am eligible for SDA funding?

SDA funding is available to NDIS participants with extreme functional impairment or very high support needs. Eligibility is determined through your NDIS plan, usually with supporting evidence from an OT or other allied health professional. Not sure where to start? It varies depending on your location, housing type and funding situation. Our platform shows real-time availability from 600+ providers across Australia, and our specialist support coordination team can help you navigate the process, explore options, and guide you through NDIS funding from start to finish.

Is my personal information kept private?

Yes. Your profile information is only shared with housing providers when you choose to make an enquiry - we do not share your details without your consent. You control what is visible and to whom. For more detail, see our Privacy Policy.

What information do I need to complete my profile?

Accepted Answer

Your profile asks for your housing preferences, accessibility requirements, location, and NDIS funding status. The more detail you include, the better we can match you to suitable properties. You can start with the basics and add more detail over time.

Can a family member or support coordinator set up a profile on my behalf?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Many of our seekers are supported by a family member, carer or support coordinator to create and manage their profile. You can note this in your profile, and the account can be accessed and managed by whoever supports you.

Can I use Housing Hub if I do not have NDIS funding yet?

Accepted Answer

Yes. You can browse listings and create a profile at any stage of your housing journey - you do not need approved NDIS funding to get started. You can also view your housing roadmap which guides you through your housing journey, to help you understand your options, learn how to take action, and build capacity to progress your goals. By choosing each section, you will be able to access information and make informed decisions about what to do next.

How do I update my profile if my needs or situation change?

Log in to your seeker portal and update your profile at any time. We recommend keeping your preferences current so that listing alerts stay relevant to you.

We specialise exclusively in housing - helping NDIS participants clarify goals, explore options, and navigate NDIS funding from start to finish. We cover SDA, SIL and ILO arrangements. We offer mentoring on all aspects of Home and Living evidence, with a strong recommendation to have critical documents, such as the Participant Statement, Occupational Therapy Housing Report, and Home and Living Supporting Evidence form, reviewed by our expert team. Do I need support coordination funding in my NDIS plan to use these services?

Based on the person's home and living goals, we will tailor an individualised service agreement that aligns with their needs. The costs below outline our funding structure based on the current NDIS price guide. Specialist Support Coordination: Level 3: $190.54/hr, Support Coordination: Level 2: $100.14/hr and Individualised Living Options (ILO): Design and Exploration: $100.14/hr. *Subject to change to be aligned with updated NDIS price guide.

We take a rights-based approach, championing choice, control, and inclusion for people with disability at every step. Over 600 housing providers across Australia list their properties on the Housing Hub, including NDIS-registered SDA and providers, as well as landlords offering accessible rental properties, and vendors of accessible properties for sale. All providers on our platform are registered and/or verified.

How do I contact a provider about a specific listing?

Accepted Answer

From any listing page, click "Enquire" to send a message directly to the provider. You can track all your enquiries in your seeker portal. Providers typically respond within a few business days.

Can I see all available vacancies from a specific provider?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Each provider has a profile page on Housing Hub showing their current listings, housing types, locations and contact details. You can also search our provider directory to find providers operating in a specific area.

Question 21

Can I filter out listings from a provider I don't like?

Accepted Answer

Yes. In the search filters, you can choose to include or exclude a support provider. If you're searching for SDA properties you can choose to include or exclude an SDA provider.

What if a provider doesn't respond to my enquiry?

Accepted Answer

If you have not heard back within a reasonable timeframe, you can follow up via your seeker portal. You could also contact our free housing advice line for additional support.
