Housing Hub "Disruptive ideas in disability housing" National Event: Terms & Conditions

1. DEFINITIONS

1.1 Event: Refers to the 2026 Housing Hub National Event, titled "Disruptive Ideas in Disability Housing: Challenging the Status Quo," scheduled for 6th October 2026.

1.2 Venue: Refers to the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre (MCEC) located in South Wharf, Melbourne.

1.3 Housing Hub: Refers to the Event organiser, Housing Hub, a not-for-profit organisation.

1.4 Attendee: Any person who registers for or attends the Event.  Includes you or your.


2. ABOUT THESE TERMS & CONDITIONS

2.1 These terms and conditions apply to all Attendees of the Event.

2.2 By registering for and attending the Event, you agree to these terms and conditions.


3. DELIVERY

3.1. Format

This is an in-person event.  Attendance at the Venue is required to participate.  A livestream option is available only for people with disability who cannot attend in person. Livestream access is limited and does not provide the full event experience.


4. REGISTRATION & TICKETS

4.1 Registration confirmation

To attend the Event, you must register in advance via Housing’s Hub nominated booking platform.  Your registration is confirmed upon completion and submission of the registration form, and full payment has been received.

4.2 Booking platform

Tickets are sold via Humanitix.  By registering and purchasing a ticket, you also agree to the Humanitix terms and conditions.

4.3 Ticket types and eligibility

You must purchase the ticket type that best applies to you.  Housing Hub reserves the right to review your registration and, where necessary, adjust the registration and/or request payment of the correct registration fee.

4.4 Support person

If you're a person with disability, you can bring one support person (this may be a professional or personal support person, carer or companion). You will need to provide details of your support person when purchasing your ticket in Humanitix, and also bring your Companion Card with you when registering in person on the day of the event. You will need to purchase tickets for any additional support persons, and the person with disability rate is payable.

4.5 Accuracy of information

You are responsible for ensuring your registration details, including contact information and accessibility requirements, are accurate when registering.

5. Correspondence

All Event-related correspondence will be sent to the email address you provided at registration.  This includes, but is not limited to, the Event registration confirmation, Event updates and reminders.  

5.1 Currency of information

You are responsible for maintaining your contact details. Check your email Spam or Junk folder for emails. 


6. FEES & PAYMENTS

6.1 Fees

Event fees are stated in Australian dollars (AUD) and are exclusive of GST, unless otherwise specified.  GST is added to the registration fee at the applicable rate and is payable by the Attendee when registering.

6.2 Payment

Payment is required at the time of registration.  Your registration is not confirmed until payment has been received.  Receipts are issued electronically. 

6.3 Transaction fees

Any third-party booking or transaction fees (including Humanitix fees) are payable by the Attendee and are non-refundable.


7. ATTENDEE CANCELLATIONS, REFUNDS & SUBSTITUTIONS

7.1 General conditions 

Notice periods exclude the Event day.  You must submit all cancellation and substitution requests in writing using the contact details provided in the event confirmation email.

7.2 Cancellations and refunds

A full refund of the registration fee paid will be issued for cancellations up to and including Friday, 4 September 2026.  Tickets are non-refundable post this date, but they can be transferred to another person if needed.  All refunds exclude any booking or transaction fees, including Humanitix fees.

7.3 Substitutions

Your registration can be transferred to another eligible Attendee in the same ticket category up to 14 days before the Event.  No exceptions will be made after this time.

7.4 Non-attendance

If you do not attend the Event for any reason, you will not receive a refund.  Housing Hub may, at its discretion, consider written requests for full or partial refunds.


8. CHANGES BY HOUSING HUB

8.1 Event changes

Housing Hub reserves the right to make changes to the Event format, speakers, content, timing or Venue if required, without consent.

8.2 Postponement and cancellations

If the Event is cancelled or postponed, you can:

a. Transfer to the rescheduled Event or 

b. If applicable, receive a refund of the registration fee paid.

8.3 Associated costs

Housing Hub is not liable for any additional or associated costs you incur, including travel or accommodation. 


9. ACCESSIBILITY

9.1 Your requirements

You can advise your accessibility needs when registering.  Housing Hub will attempt to make all reasonable adjustments required.


10. HEALTH & SAFETY

10.1 Staying safe and well

Your health and the health of everyone else attending the Event are important.  Please do not come to the Event if you are unwell or have symptoms of COVID-19, the flu or other illnesses. 

10.2 Safety rules

You must follow all safety signs and directions from Housing Hub staff and Venue staff while attending the Event.


11. CODE OF CONDUCT

We are committed to a safe and respectful environment for everyone.  

11.1 Respectful participation

You are expected to engage respectfully and professionally with facilitators, contributors, other Attendees, Housing Hub staff, Venue staff, and representatives from Event sponsors, exhibitors and partners.

11.2 Right to remove attendees

Housing Hub reserves the right to remove any Attendee who behaves in a disruptive, unsafe, inappropriate or disrespectful manner.  No refund will be provided in these circumstances

12. RECORDING & CONTENT

12.1 Photography and filming

Photography, video and audio recording will take place at the Event.  By attending the Event, you consent to being photographed, filmed and recorded.

12.2 Use of content

Housing Hub may use the recordings and images for communications, marketing and promotional purposes, including on websites, social media and other channels and materials.

12.3 Participation

If you ask a question, contribute to discussions or participate in the Event your voice and contributions may be recorded.

12.4 Opt out

If you do not want to be photographed or filmed, you can request an opt-out identifier on the Event day at registration. We will take reasonable steps to respect this, but we cannot guarantee that you will not appear in incidental background footage.

12.5 Attendee recording

Recording or live streaming of sessions by any Attendee is not permitted.


13. PROMOTIONAL & COMMERCIAL ACTIVITY

13.1 Attendees must not promote businesses, distribute marketing materials, or conduct commercial activities at the Event except where expressly permitted by Housing Hub.  Informal discussions about services or organisations may occur during designated networking periods during the Event.

13.2 Advertising or distribution of materials is strictly limited to approved sponsors, exhibitors or partners.

13.3 Attendees may not promote their own business or products, except during the networking session at the end of the day, or unless agreed to in writing by Housing Hub.

13.4 Only approved partners engaged by Housing Hub are permitted to present or promote products and services at the Event.

13.5 Attendees are not permitted to share personal stories or identifying information of other Attendees or non-attendees without permission.

13.6 No endorsement 

Housing Hub is not endorsing any Event sponsor or exhibitor and remains independent.


14. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

14.1 Event materials

All Event content and materials are the intellectual property of Housing Hub or the relevant contributors.

14.2 Permitted use

Materials may be used for personal, non-commercial purposes only, and must not be reproduced, shared or distributed without prior permission.


15. DISCLAIMER

15.1 General information only

The Event provides general information only and does not constitute legal, financial, regulatory, compliance, or professional advice.  You should seek alternative independent advice relevant to your specific circumstances before acting on any information provided.

15.2 No guarantees

Housing Hub makes no guarantees regarding outcomes, funding approvals, compliance outcomes, business performance, or organisational results arising from participation in the Event.


16. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

16.1 Exclusion of indirect loss

To the extent permitted by law, Housing Hub is not liable for any indirect, consequential, or economic loss arising from participation in the Event.

16.2 Liability cap

To the extent permitted by law, Housing Hub’s total liability is limited to the registration fee paid by you.

16.3 Australian Consumer Law

Nothing in these Terms and Conditions excludes, limits, or modifies any rights you may have under the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth) or other applicable laws.

16.4 Personal property

To the extent permitted by law, Housing Hub is not responsible for any loss, theft or damage to personal property brought by Attendees to the Event.  Attendees are responsible for their own belongings at all times.


17. FORCE MAJEURE

Housing Hub is not liable for failure or delay in delivering the Event due to circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including natural disasters, public health emergencies, or government restrictions.


18. PRIVACY

Personal information collected during registration will be handled in accordance with Housing Hub’s Privacy Policy.  We will not sell or share your personal information with third parties without your consent.


19. GOVERNING LAW

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia, and the parties submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria.


20. ENTIRE AGREEMENT

These Terms and Conditions constitute the entire agreement between you and Housing Hub in relation to the Event and supersede any prior representations or agreements relating to the subject matter.
