Buying or building your own SDA

This guide is for people who already have Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) funding in their plan and want to own their SDA home, or for family members looking to provide a home for a loved one.

SDA funding can be a way for people with disability to own their home. But there are quite a few hurdles to overcome, meaning that home ownership using SDA will only be possible for a small number of NDIS participants.

This guide will help you work out whether using your SDA funding to build or buy a home might be right for you. It explains the process and points out what some of the major hurdles are.
