Front row at Bluesfest Byron Bay
Jamie-Lee recounts her experience in the front row at the 2024 Bluesfest in Byron Bay with her two favourite support workers.
We were lucky enough to stay in a fully accessible villa overlooking the beautiful countryside just outside of Bangalow, a short twenty-minute drive from the festival.
Apart from joining hundreds of other unfortunate motorists and getting badly bogged in the Bluesfest car park on the first night, everything went off without a hitch.
It was important to me and my friends that I was able to experience the various concerts from the front row along with all the other diehard music fans… even the women throwing their undies at Tom Jones!
People go to concerts to forget about the problems in their day-to-day lives, and I’m no different. Thanks to my support worker’s suggestion that I raise my power wheelchair up to its maximum height, I was able to join the rest of the people in the mosh pit at their level. This gave me a completely new perspective on what a live show can be. Needless to say I loved it!
Bring on Bluesfest Byron Bay 2025!
