Housing options events for people with disabilty

Learn about your housing options

The Housing Hub runs free housing options events for people with disability and their families.

These events

  • Can be changed for your communication needs.
  • Follow a workbook that we will email to you before the event.
  • Are for you to ask as many questions as you like.
  • Have stories by people with disability who have experience in finding the right home.

If needed, our team will contact you before the event to make sure we meet your needs.

Australia-wide online workshops

We run regular Understanding Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) workshops. These workshops are run online using Zoom so you can attend from anywhere in Australia. If you are from Queensland, you can register for face-to-face workshops below.

Understanding Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) workshops cover:

  • What is Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA)?
  • Can I live in SDA?
  • Housing and support under the NDIS
  • Creating your housing seeker profile
  • How we can help you find the right home
  • Next steps for you

See online SDA workshop dates

How long are the events?

  • The workshops are 2.5 hours long with 2 short breaks.

What if I can't make a workshop or event?

You can do our self-paced Housing Options Workshop. This talks about your housing options under the NDIS in 12 short videos. If you want help while you work through our self-paced workshop you can call us.

Start your housing seeker profile while you wait for your event!

A profile shows you properties on the Housing Hub website that most closely match your preferences. This makes it faster to scroll through listings and helps you speed up your search for a new home. You can see how your housing seeker profile can help you find the right home here.
