At the best of times, it can be hard for people with disability to find housing that is accessible to them. With so many homes impacted by recent flooding from the Sunshine Coast in Queensland through to Sydney, the situation is even more dire.
If you have a home available that might be suitable for someone with a disability to rent while their home is repaired or rebuilt, please consider listing it as short- or medium-term accommodation on the Housing Hub.
Listing a property on the Housing Hub is completely free and it’s also free for people who need to search for a home.
To list a property or properties, first sign up as a housing provider on the Housing Hub – all the info you need is here. You’ll then be emailed login details so you can list your properties.
If you need assistance with the process, you can contact us at hello@housinghub.org.au. You can also call our NDIS Housing Advice Line on 1300 61 64 63 on Monday to Friday from 10am to 3pm in NSW, or 9am to 2pm in QLD.
If you need to find an accessible home – whether it’s just while your own place is repaired or for the longer term – you can create a Housing Seeker Profile.
Your Housing Seeker Profile details where you need a home and what features they need – whether it’s a step-free entry for your mobility impairment, an accessible bathroom, or doorways that are wide enough to accommodate your motorised wheelchair. Once your profile is created, you can get the Housing Hub to automatically email you when a home gets listed that’s a good match.
If you need support to create your Housing Seeker Profile, email us or call our NDIS Housing Advice Line on 1300 61 64 63 on Monday to Friday from 10am to 3pm in NSW, or 9am to 2pm in QLD.
Getting started with your Housing Hub Profile is easy! You can sign up to create a profile here or if you already have one you can login here to make sure your preferences are up to date.
