Join the Housing Hub Board

Housing Hub is a not-for-profit organisation supporting people with disability to access quality housing which means people can live with who they want, where they want and how they want. We provide a range of services including a website of accessible property listings, capacity-building initiatives and services for NDIS Participants seeking home and living supports. Our vision is that there is an effective housing market where people with disability are shaping a range of quality options in order to decide where, how and who to live with.

Housing Hub has been incubated by the Summer Foundation, a national for-purpose organisation working to prevent people aged under 65 from entering aged care. Following the successful development of Housing Hub’s products and services over the past four years, a new charitable organisation has been formed and the activities of the Housing Hub are expected to transition to this company within the next nine months.

Housing Hub would like to invite applications from suitably qualified candidates with lived experience of navigating the accessible housing market to apply as non-executive directors to join the Board and contribute to the organisation’s strategic direction and governance.

In addition, applicants should possess some of the following skills and/or experience:

  • Financial Management and Accounting;
  • Risk and Compliance;
  • Commercial Capability;
  • Clinical Governance;
  • High-level conceptual and strategic thinking skills;
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other Directors and respectfully challenge ideas and concepts;
  • Governance education (e.g. AICD course) and/or past experience on community Boards is desirable;

Housing Hub is also seeking to appoint people from diverse backgrounds who understand the experience of the community we serve.

If you have a passion for quality housing options for people with disability and have expertise in Accounting, Risk and compliance, Commercial or clinical governance as well as lived experience navigating the accessible housing market, then we want to hear from you.

Please reach out to Joanne Mear for a conversation or see the position description here.

To apply, please send a cover letter outlining why your skills and experience are a great match for the Housing Hub, along with your Board CV to Joanne Mear joanne.mear@housinghub.org.au
