Article

Social Ventures Australia and the Summer Foundation have collaborated to produce a report which provides insights into the growth of SDA supply across Australia.

Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) is housing that has been specially designed to suit the needs of people who have an ‘extreme functional impairment’ or ‘very high support needs’. Under the NDIS, around 28,000 people will be funded for SDA.

The report identifies that 3,000 SDA places have been or are being built and it estimates that there are an estimated 9,000 places still needed to meet demand across Australia.
