Welcome to the Housing Hub Housing Options Workshop. Here at the Housing Hub, we believe better is possible for people with disability. We are passionate about giving you the knowledge you need to make choices about where and how you live. We are an online community where people with disability and housing providers work together to create accessible housing options. HousingHub.org.edu is a website that advertises properties for people with disability. This workshop will give you information about NDIS housing options. It is written for people with disabilities who are searching for housing solutions. Family and supporters can use it too. We will talk about how to find the right home for you.

The workshop has 12 chapters. Each chapter starts with a short summary section. The summary is for people who do not have much time or who aren't sure if the information is what they need. We think it's good to work through the chapters in order, but you can pick and choose what you want to watch. You can work through the chapters that are important to you at your own pace. If you need help at any time, our team is here for you. Call our Advice Line on 1300-61-64-63. Through the workshop, our team of lived experience facilitators will share their own stories. They are great, because you can hear what it's really like looking for disability housing from people who really know. You don't have to watch these videos, but we recommend them. You will find the links to these videos in the chapters.

There is also a workbook to go with this digital workshop. You can download the workbook for your state on this page. The workbook has activities for you to do. The activities match what we are talking about in the workshop. Through the workshop, we will tell you when to do one of the activities. Doing these workbook activities will help you apply what you have learned to your own situation. In the workshop, we will also ask you to complete parts of your Housing Seeker Profile. This is a simple process. You can tell us where you want to live, who you want to live with, and what things you need in a home to make it accessible to you. The Housing Hub website uses this information to do a housing search for you. It compares your answers to those three questions I just asked, to housing that is being advertised on the Housing Hub.

The ads on the Housing Hub are called listings. You will get alerts for any matches to listings via email. To get started, click the link to open the Housing Seeker Profile in a separate window. Write in your email address and create a password. Make sure you understand our privacy policy and then tick to say you agreed to it. You can also agree to get a copy of our e-newsletter to stay up to date. We will help you to do the next parts of the profile as you do the activities in the workbook. At the end of this workshop, you can choose to register for a free question and answer session with one of our team of NDIS housing options facilitators. In the Q and A session, we will also make sure you have finished your Housing Seeker Profile. We hope that you enjoy this workshop and we look forward to talking to you about your housing journey soon.
